The relevance of investigating learning theories in the scope of this course

Differentiating the learning theories is relevant for a teacher to be more effective in the teaching process. To apply the learning theories the teacher must recognise how those theories are going to help his/ her lesson. For example the good understanding of Behaviourism theory helps to know the behaviours of the student and lead to manage the classroom by understanding the bad and good behaviour of students also using some reinforcements to shape to the desired behaviour.
In this course we looked at behaviourism, cognitivism, constructivism, connectivism and Distributed Cognition theories. Investigating and knowing the concepts of those theories is relevant to know how the theories are related and linked each other, also to differentiation among the latest and the oldest one as a teacher.

  1. Sometimes I want to be a behaviourist, espesially with some classes. Then they just sit listen and do!!! It won't work. Knowing it all means we can take the best and form a new way and called it just want we want to because the children will learn in a way that will help them. Choosing only one will be boring.

  2. Some of the learners likes to read and take their school work seriously, so it was to be good if everyone is working on the one theory at the time.
Anyway these theories are educative even in us as adults.
